Spoiled Brat started with Tracy Lee Smith and his brother and co founder Steve.
We used this name in a couple versions of cover bands before disbanding in 1982. Tracy started recording in a home studio and shopped his demos to producers, and caught the attention of Susan Bader of DSM Producers of New York. The task was to put a band together to set the world on fire. Marty Hill played bass, Mike Radka -Drums, and Andy Hinds- guitar started up what is Spoiled Brat 1. This band had a heavier sound with more instrumental runs , and flavor. Opening act for Roughhouse on Columbia records in 1987-88 and the band Take Two opened for SB1 on many occasions and we developed a close bond with the guys and style they played. Tracy and Andy were having creative differences, and SB1 disbanded and Tracy owning the name absorbed members of Take 2, Dave Lewis Guitar, Pete Denunzio Drums, and recruited Danny Thompson of Arthur's Museum, also Bassist on a Richie Kotzen album. This version played for a couple months til Danny left to pursue the recording with Richie on Interscope records in CA. Enter Spoiled Brat 3 line up adding Andy Sekelic - bass , and Shawn Heim -keyboards to a new line up that had a month to perform a record company showcase for Arista, and Black Dragon records in April 1990. Most of the songs came out of this line up. Dave Lewis went Solo with his group Sweet Jane in 91. Bobby Michealides replaced him on guitar for many months, until Danny Thompson came back and replaced him for an appearance at the Cat club in NY city. The group Had songs played on NTV in Japan, TV shows "Life Goes On" episode Corky's Revenge featuring "All I Need", a made for TV movie on NBC Condition Critical starring Kevin Sorbo of Hercules and God's not Dead fame. "Dinosaur", which also featured on the Jerry Springer Show. Dave Lewis's Song "I still Love You" was played on Vin Scelsa's show on K-ROCK in NYC. DSM Producers started the AMCL Sound library where our songs got this exposure. Spoiled Brat 3 disbanded in 1992. Thanks to all the players, stage hands, and girls, and wives who were top notch, bar fight ready, quick to dance and cheer, family and fans. May you all have peace, love, and joy in your lives. God Bless!
