That's just how it is. Can't remember a time when I didn't play piano

and hardly remember a time when I didn't write music.

Originally a classical pianist, I play many other instruments, write in

many genres including spoken word, but love the blues, my own blues

done my own way. Also write poetry.

I produce my own music and I'm old fashioned enough not to use midi files, or 'virtual' instruments and I record my tracks without edits or overdubs to produce what I hope is an authentic reproduction of me and my sounds. The drums on my tracks are real as is the bass and these usually are the only instruments not played by me.

I have over 500 copyrighted songs and instrumentals and spoken word tracks but only a fraction of all this work has yet been released.

My first album 'In The Making' charted to #4 in the Blues/Roots chart in 2012 amongst my peers and my second album 'My Own Shade of Blue' is following on I'm pleased to say. I have never paid anyone to promote me, or to play my music although I know that is a way to 'get ahead' these days or so it seems.

However, success to me is in being happy with the music I release and of course having the absolute pleasure of being told that it connects with people out there who I choose to call friends, not fans and am thankful to all who have registered as such and who support me.

Music today has many problems and success/fame is chased by so many - I'm just happy that I was given the gift of making music and will just carry on doing it in my own way. At least, I will continue when health issues allow.
