Vocal because she didn’t hesitate to do an entire album with only her voice as instrument: The A Cappella Sessions.Explorer because she develops new ways of making, recording and promoting music.

In 2007 thanks to Sellaband and 684 generous believers from all over the world, June Caravel, then named T-ka, raised $50,000 and recorded her first album "And maybe a treewill rise out of me..." in Weed, California. The soul-pop record was produced by Sylvia Massy (Prince, Skunk Anansie) and supported by a crowd of hugely talented musicians: guitarist Jeff Pevar (Ray Charles, Crosby Stills & Nash), drummer Stevie D (David Gilmour, Crosby Stills & Nash), bassist Tibo Barbillon (Nouvelle Vague) and horn-player Bill Holloman (Nile Rodgers, Diana Ross). She then moved to London in 2009 and in 2010 after seeing Bobby McFerrin & Richard Bona live, she discovered the limitless possibilities offered by the human voice and decided to give up traditional compositions for A Cappella singing. It was a revelation. She started experimenting new songs with her unique three and half octave voice range and her loop pedal and soon became June Caravel.

To promote her new album The A Cappella Sessions, she literally went to the other side ofthe world. She had only busked about an hour in total in London before shedecided to go Busking in Australia. June’s goal: only survive off donations that people give her in the street while singing. Not only did she survive this way 2 months but she also filmed it and produced a mini online series.

June is back to good old Europa and is now based in Hannover, Germany since September 2012. In February 2013 she won the city prize “Kre(h)tiv”.
