Tío Rico wad formed by Scott (bass / vocals) and Ed (guitar / lead vocals)who met when Ed was playing in Big Ed & The Stink and putting on gig's in Manchester and put on Scott's band Glue Ear, after Glue Ear wound things down towards the end of 2015 they got together and started working on a few song ideas.
An old friend of Scott's, Matt joined them on drums in November of that year and they played their first show in 2016. Initially gravitating towards a sound that comprised of slow ska punk they recorded a self titled 5 track Demo with the help of long term friend Duncan with one song featuring on the Død incarnate records sampler along side grind-core bands. In September 2016 they went to Pressure Drop Studios in Stockport and recorded their single Mr Big Shot with Will Farley (Stay Clean Jolene / The Leif Ericsson) which was released through Horn & Hoof Records.Their last EP Business and Pleasure was again recorded with Will Farley and released in July 2017, is shows the bands progression away from ska to a heavier punky grungy sound.
