He has a MusicEC-12 with an ESL Supplemental Texas Teaching Certificate and regarded by theNo Child Left Behind Act as “Highly Qualified”. Thomas plays Piano, HammondOrgan, Rhodes and Guitar in several genres and has played with and opened forvarious regional and national artists around Texas and the country. Along withlive performances and teaching, he does studio work, arranging and composingfor pop, jazz and modern works of his own making and for others.

He haswritten pieces for the Texas State Tuba Ensemble, which were then performed onseparate occasions, one at the Brass Ensemble Conference in Indiana over thesummer of ‘09. Another composition, "Piano Drift for Two Pianos" wonthe Texas State University composition competition in 2011. He studied withcomposition professor Richard Hall and Russell Reipe along with acclaimedpianist Dr. Washington Garcia. Mr. Mann is currently a board member of The NationalAssociation of Composers/Texas and plans to go forward with a Masters degree incomposition.

Untilrecently the stacks of modern and traditional compositions have seemed they maynever see the light of play, but now they are slowly coming to performancefruition. He meanwhile teaches piano, bass, guitar, composition and theory,while freelance performing with other groups or groups of his own design.Thomas always tries to keep his grasp beyond his reach and strives to be aswell rounded and disciplined in music as possible while driving for moreknowledge and ability without sacrificing creativity in performance,composition and teaching practices.

Thomashas been teaching with Allegro School of Music since he moved from Atlanta, GAin 2001, where he taught and studied with Russian virtuoso and head masterAngela Oyzboyd at The European School of Music. Now a certified teacher in thestate of Texas, he has a playing history of piano for 40 years, guitar for 30and a working knowledge of all orchestral and non-traditional instruments.Thomas plans and thrives on being a life long learner, teacher, composer,husband and colleague.
