Though they had been collaborating within the Buenos Aires garage rock scene for nearly a decade, it wasn't until 2001 that David, Juan, and Dario adopted the Tandooris handle.
They made an immediate splash, playing Argentina's BA Stomp rock festival in 2002 and contributing that same year (along with los Peyotes, Elio & Thee Horribles, and Supersonics) to the 7" EP "South American Teenage Garage Punk," issued through Barcelona's Butterfly Records. The Tandooris made their full-length debut the following year with Walking Blind (No Fun). By that time, Marcelo Perez had joined the band on second guitar. A second No Fun LP, entitled Science Fiction Guaranteed, appeared in 2004. ~ Johnny Loftus
