Formed in 1994, heavy alternative rock band the Susans made their mark primarily in their hometown of Columbus, OH.
Using independent means and self-promotion, the band managed to develop a sizeable local fan base and sell a couple thousand CD units at their shows and over the Internet. Lead singer and guitarist Suzen Carson clocked in meaningful time recording with and fronting various Ohio bands during her career before forming the Susans and has the versatility to competently perform blues, rock, folk, and pop while pursuing interests in the martial arts, weightlifting, motorcycling, and philosophy. Guitarist Jon Thoms and bassist Ken Lambert have had their playing styles influenced by Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Limp Bizkit, and Tool. The band's "other Susan" -- drummer Susan Davison -- was classically trained in percussion. When not performing as one half of a quartet, Suzen Carson and Susan Davison sidelined as 2 Sides of Susan, a performing and recording project enabling the women to exploit aspects of their talents not necessarily appropriate for the full band.

In 1996, the Susans self-released their debut, One Piece of Wood, and followed with Another Cloudy Day in Eden in 2000. ~ Roxanne Blanford
