The SugarBees are a Variety, Dance band that covers all genres including current hits, classic favorites, country, rock, alternative, beach, boogie, blues, oldies, pop, disco, motown, and many more.

The Bees have played hundreds of weddings and other events since 1991. The high energy band keep the party going during breaks with our DJ system playing line dance songs and any special requests.They are fully self-contained with full PA and lights that can accommodate over 5000 people, have a very extensive song list, and can perform at virtually any venue.

Band History

In 1991, The SugarBees were founded by multi-platinum producer, engineer, and drummer Fred Shaw along with Marion Carter with Ripete Records. The studio band, at BradleyHouseMusic, got their start backing National and International talent such as Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs, The Gatlin Brothers, The Stylistics, The Drifters, The Tams, The Embers, The Platters, Danny and the Juniors, Joe Simon, Chuck Berry, Bill Pinkney, Kip Anderson, Dale Hawkins, Dan Penn, and many more.

The band released their debut CD "Bad, Bad Business" in 1998 and continued recording and touring later releasing four CD projects. The group has its own impressive list of hit songs for the beach and shag market including "Susie Q", "Slippin n Slidin", "The Monkey Song", "Holy Cow", "Hold you to your Promise", "Give it to a Good Man", "Automobile", and several more. Since 2012,The SugarBees featuring Mary Vella has had a string of original songs in the Top 40 Beach Music charts which includes, "Vacation", "Dizzy", "Why Have the Blues When you can Boogie at the Beach" and "Rockaby". The Group continues to be a leading live attraction with a new lineup, With topflight musicianship and a polished, energetic and dynamic live presentation, The SugarBees have it all!
