Disclosing bold experiences within modern pop style, yet still revealing their alternative inspirations, the Scones formed in 1995 in the U.K., fronted by the initiative of singer/songwriter Martin Shears.
Having artists such as Elvis Costello or the Pretenders as his main influences, it was only after moving to the U.S. that Shears assembled the rest of the band. Comprised of Ronnie Winters (guitar), Jeff Owens (bass), and Dave Schreck (drums), the Scones started venturing on numerous live performances throughout the country, ultimately achieving considerable acclaim. However, it was not until 1999 that the group issued its debut album, Do You Hear?, subsequently the quartet promoted their melodies on nearly consecutive live dates. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges
