Although they hail from Scandinavia, there is nothing European about garage rockers the Retardos -- they're disciples of such U.S. proto-punk outfits as the Stooges, Dead Boys, and the Ramones.
The group has issued a self-titled debut thus far (on the Scooch Pooch label), mixing originals with covers by G.G. Allin and Gang Green. In support of their debut, the Retardos toured with the likes of the Backyard Babies and appeared at Texas' renowned music fest, SXSW, as well. ~ Greg Prato
