With their dual guitar use of poppy guitar hooks that flow along the same line of Superchunk and Archers of Loaf, one would think that the Papillomas originated out of college rock scenesters cities of either Chapel Hill or Athens, GA, instead of their native Nanaimo, British Columbia.
Since 1991, this quartet has stood amongst their local logging community as well as having the chance to tour North America with the help from Hub City Records. As a result, the Papillomas have released three albums, including 1995's Corolla, 1997's Twice As Early as You'd Ever Want to Be There, and 2001's When Years Were Bee Stings. ~ Mike DaRonco
