welcome to THE OWL IN DAYLIGHT: a hardworking, tight-knit, los angeles-based pop-punk / post-hardcore band, rooted in a sound that they had grown up with.

initially born as a creative outlet of several members of various bands within the southern california punk and ska scene with a love and sense of nostalgia for the east bay, ca and chicago pop-punk / punk rock of the 90’s that blended high-energy rhythms and memorable, sing-a-long vocal hooks, their sonic foundation began with their self-released EP, Trial by Fire, in march of 2013, only to be truly solidified with the release of their debut full-length, Safety Second, in late-january of 2015.

despite several line up changes and set backs during their formation, the process of recording and releasing both records, THE OWL IN DAYLIGHT persevered and became more determined, dedicated, and motivated to write songs that moved them. lyrically grounded in poetry, THE OWL IN DAYLIGHT bridges the gap between a seemingly simplistic, catchy, punk rock style they were raised on and a love for a technical, progressive edge that they, as musicians, hold in high esteem.
