Australian indie pop duo Them Swoops emerged in 2012 when a demo of their single "Work Around It" found its way into Triple J radio rotation and helped them win the station's Unearthed Fuse Festival competition.
Initially conceived as a studio project, members Dave McGann and Chris Goff soon took Them Swoops on the road supporting acts like Birds of Tokyo and the Maccabees. A second single, "Too Fast for Love" arrived in early 2013, faring similarly on Triple J and gaining wider exposure via Sirius XM's Alt Nation in the U.S. In 2014 they signed with New York label +1 Records and released their debut EP, Glimmers. Their shimmering, melodic offerings shared a kinship with pop-minded bands like Phoenix and Foster the People. In early 2016, Them Swoops released "Alright for Me" and "Into the Atmosphere," a pair of singles that indicated a bright, synth-heavy direction. ~ Timothy Monger
