A Dutch duo known only by their pseudonyms Oattes and Van Shaik, the Limit reached number 17 in the UK charts in January 1985 with ‘Say Yeah’.
It was to be their sole hit - a problem exacerbated by their subsequent name change. Within weeks the Limit had become Oattes And Van Shaik - though their debut album for Portrait Records was actually titled The Limit. Unsurprisingly given the conditions of its release, the album’s sales were minimal and the duo disappeared from the charts.
