Named after The Daily Record's longstanding agony aunt, folk-pop six-piece Just Joans have built up a reputation as one of the best undiscovered bands in their native Scotland.
Originally formed as a duo, frontman David Pope and guitarist Chris Elkin later recruited keyboardist Dougie Cameron, vocalist Rowan Smith, bassist Fraser Ford, and David's sister Katie in an effort to expand their sound. Influenced by the Smiths and the Kinks, their kitchen sink tales of teenage life won them a loyal following and in 2005, they released their debut album Last Tango in Motherwell through Ivan Lendil Music. In 2007, they released two EPs, Virgin Lips and Hey Boy You're Oh So Sensitive through London label Wee Pop Records. ~ Jon O'Brien
