American alternative rock band the Human Value hailed from Los Angeles, but made a name for themselves wowing crowds in London, England.
The group -- Turu (vocals, keyboards), Hiram Fleites (guitar, vocals), and James Hazley (drums and percussion) -- scored critical plaudits from a vast array of British rock critics, including a feature look in the NME music paper. Founded by Turu and Fleites (who had cut their teeth in projects such as Kittens for Christian and the Send Effect), the Human Value built their reputation on their live presence, and were able to take that magic into the studio setting. Their 2005 full-length debut, Human Value, was an equally well-received collection, and was soon followed by the band's sophomore release, Push and Pull. ~ Chris True
