Over a 16-year career, Montreal’s retro pop classicists The High Dials have won a devoted international following and acclaim from critics including NME, Spin, All Music Guide and Brooklyn Vegan.
The band’s ever-evolving sound is rooted in 60s pop but infused with soul, post-punk and electro pop influences.

The latest album “Primitive Feelings” is a predatory summer mix of lo-fi 90s grooves, acid rock guitars and razor-sharp humour. In a 4-star review, Shindig Magazine praised its “heady, intoxicating set of tunes which reveal hidden depths with each listen”.

Released digitally in June, Part I roamed like a blissed-out tiger across a colourful landscape of northern soul, electro pop and psychedelic cumbia. The hazy, VHS video for first single “Employment and Enjoyment”sums up the pervading lo-fi, 90’s party vibe.

On Sept 20th, Part II bared its teeth to conclude the full LP, now available on coloured vinyl through Propagande / Cobraside.

“Fear of Heights” roars with a fearsome backbeat, druggy 60’s vocals and razor-tipped guitars. “My Dream Addiction” stalks listeners with old-school beats and shoegaze attitude. Feline fun is the order of the day, with producer and songwriter Trevor Anderson building playful songs from the bass up.

“Primitive Feelings” made a mark on indie radio, reaching #17 on the earshot! Top 50 and #74 on the NACC Top 200.
