The Eden Project was the original moniker of Jonathon Ng, an Irish multi-instrumentalist and EDM producer.
His songs fused elements of dubstep and drum'n'bass with heartfelt, melancholy songwriting. As a child, Ng was classically trained as a violinist, and he eventually taught himself to play guitar, piano, and drums. He began releasing songs as the Eden Project in 2013, with debut EP I Am Spitfire arriving in 2014. Further EPs Kairos, Entrance, and Bipolar Sunshine found him venturing into more of an alternative rock style than dance music. He worked with rapper Ato Alexander under the name ATO X EDEN, and he also collaborated with New York-based producer Puppet on two tracks released by EDM label Monstercat. 2015's Final Call (which included covers of Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" and Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love") was Ng's final release as the Eden Project before he shortened his alias to simply EDEN. ~ Paul Simpson
