BIO:
The Blood, the legendary 1980s Punk Rock and Oi! band.

Megalomania, Stark Raving Normal, Such Fun, False Gestures For A Devious Public.

The Blood, a legendary phenomena from the 80s punk epoch. The Blood, the sensational iconoclasts of the iconoclasts. The Blood, the immaculate conception of the punk paradigm.

The band formed in 1982 and is led by The Cardinal (Colin Smith) and JJ Bedsore (James Cantwell RIP). Their volatile sound is a pulsating chorus of punk harmonic noise. The Blood's music blends together Oi!, heavy metal, football chants and shock rock.

Many of The Blood songs satirically, and brutally, challenge the illusions, and delusions, of those who hold themselves in a privileged or religious majesty above others. The early 1980s Blood songs echo the work of "God Save The Queen", by The Sex Pistols, which also mocked such political paradigms. Their first single, "Megalomania", ridiculed the Pope and The Vatican, as did "Such Fun" from the Oi! compilation album "Oi! Oi! That's Yer Lot!". Their second single "Stark Raving Normal" ironically criticized one-dimensional patriotism, apathy and mediocrity.

Their first album, False Gestures for a Devious Public (1983), hit the UK top 30 and was voted one of the year’s best releases by Sounds magazine.

They used to be managed by Garry Bushell who has often stated that The Blood should have been massive whilst also offering but they were lazy bastards.
