In late 2008, 13 raw twee pop tracks by a long lost '80s indie band from Carson City, Nevada, called the Art Department surfaced on the Internet.
As people began singing the praises of the group, it was revealed that it was merely a fictitious creation dreamed up by Maryland native Jon Ehrens, who had recorded The Art Anthology over a weekend in 2005. Nonetheless, the music continued to take on a life of its own through repeated downloads, and Ehrens recruited his friends Mike Meno and Jason Howe to fill out the live lineup, with plans to make a "real" album in the future. ~ Jason Lymangrover
