The ancient, polyphonic, vocal traditions of Sardinia, dating back more than 1,000 years, are resurrected by the four singers of Tenores di Bitti: Danielle Cassellu, Mario Pira, Piero Sanna and Tancredi Tucconi.
The quartet's mastery of the tradition have made them popular among the more experimental jazz musicians, and the group has collaborated on recordings with Ornette Coleman and the Art Ensemble of Chicago's Lester Bowie. ~ Craig Harris
