An uncompromising Dutch grindcore unit in the vein of Nasum, Converge, and Aborted, Teethgrinder was founded in 2013 in Zwolle, Amsterdam, Utrecht by guitarist Mart Wijnholds, vocalist Jonathan Edwards, bassist/backing vocalist Jabe Piter Faber, and drummer Wieger Jan Scheper.
The band issued their debut EP, Hellbound, shortly after forming, and followed it up a with a bevy of punishing, high profile club and festival performances alongside bands like Dillinger Escape Plan, Terrorizer, Vader, Enslaved, and Napalm Death. The following year saw the band sign with Lifeforce Records and begin work on their full-length debut. The resulting Misanthropy was released in 2015. The merciless Nihilism followed in 2016. ~ James Christopher Monger
