Guitarist and singer/songwriter Teddy Jack was one of several younger artists to inaugurate a solo career with the help of Leon Russell in the early 2000s.
His self-titled debut album appeared on Russell's Leon Russell label, and Russell co-wrote a couple of the songs. Musically, it was on the featureless side, with Teddy Jack's straining voice at the forefront of tunes mixing mainstream rock with touches of funk, jazz, and just a bit of the kind of rootsy pop for which Leon Russell is known. ~ Richie Unterberger
