Dawn migrated to Nashville from the West Coast (Seattle) after a string of solo musical successes found her charting as an independent country artist. Nash came down from the Great White North (Quebec) with the hopes of tailoring his unique sound. A chance meeting at a songwriter's get together helped the neo-gypsies find a dynamic recipe for making songs and after 4 years of making music they were married in 2010.
During the summer of 2012, the duo broke their musical silence when they gave an impromptu live acoustic performance at Serenite Mason, Leipers Fork, TN. The same week they booked their debut show at Puckett's in Leipers Fork, TN. Following this date the duo hit Nashville and has been seen since on the Billy Block Show, The Chico and Bman Show, WFMC Jams, and a number of great Venue's stages.
The duo has a gift of lifting spirits everywhere with a fresh new sound built on truly unique melodies and a playful charisma. The twosome embodies a message that will have your conscience calling like an old familiar song. Crazy musical arrangements and inspiring lyrics reflecting on patience, sympathy, kindness, gratitude, forgiveness, acceptance and love.
Currently the duo is recording with producer Ron Haffkine, producer for Shel Silverstein, Dr. Hook bringing life to songs like The Cover of the Rolling Stone, Freaking at the Freakers Ball, Sylvia's Mother, I Got Stoned and I Missed It, in Nashville Tn.
A string of influential artists can be heard cutting through their composition and style...Sting, Bob Marley, James Taylor, The Beatles, Django, John Denver, Triumph, Patsy Cline, Paul Simon, Sublime, Jewel, Gwen Stefani, Allison Krauss Eva Cassidy, and Martina McBride. They will have you traveling through eras and cultures alike.
Music traditionally has a way of bringing people together and Tawny River’s raw acoustic sound has people smiling... and hugging more too!
