Cook and Mixon, both from Louisiana, met there, where they were the rhythm section for Howard Shaft. With Cohen, they backed Brad Martin and were together again as members of Tracy Byrd's backup band. Numerous individual recording sessions and touring stints with country stars followed. Forming Swamp Rat, they recorded their debut album, consisting largely of instrumentals, with such guest stars as Byrd, Sam Bush, and Steve Wariner, for release on Weston Boys Records on November 5, 2008. ~ William Ruhlmann
