The London-based trio SuperSwamis were formed in 2006 by George Christie, Govin Murugachandran, and Rishi Wadhera.
Soon after meeting, the group members began experimenting with mixing their collective musical influences and hit upon a trip-hop blend of laid-back beats overlaid with Asian music, particularly that of the Indian subcontinent. Their unique sound and stage shows (a mix of sample-based tracks and live performances) caught the attention of a number of music critics and BBC radio personalities, leading to an appearance at the Glastonbury Festival in 2008. ~ Katherine Fulton
