Subvoltage started in high school by a group of guys just wanting to jam out and have fun.
When Joseph (lead vocals/rhythm guitar) brought up the fact that he could play JOURNEY's "Don't Stop Believing", Demetrius (keys) quickly pointed out that he too could play the song. They chose a day, and decided to jam out at Joseph's house.

Discovering Potential:

While playing JOURNEY's "Don't Stop Believing" Demetrius messed up in a few notes, which totally changes the outcome of the aimed tune. Joseph quickly turned to Demetrius and asked him to play it again. He played the melody and Joseph began to strum along. Thus began the first song.Joseph had been writing songs since he was age 11 and had a christian background. He was only interested in playing music that edified the name of Christ. In Joesph's Dining room Demetrius accepted Christ into his life.

Subvoltage has had many members come and go and as of now it is just Joseph and Demetrius

and Danny

The Name:

During lunch time one day at their local high school, the band was pitching some band names. Names were thrown around and around. Demetrius wanted to settle on the name HIGH VOLTAGE, but Joseph apposed the idea. He made in his words " a really lame joke" and said, "why don't we just call ourselves SUBVOLTAGE". Everyone loved the name but Joseph once again apposed the idea. " Give me a week to come up with something new", he said, and the challenge was made.

Joseph Came up with, " ARIA RISING" and others but all were denied. They settled with the name SUBVOLTAGE.

NAME MEANING:

Sub: under

Voltage: Energy Flow

The name had no meaning at first, but eventually changed to UNDER THE POWER OF GOD, as suggested by Joseph's mummzy.
