Formed in St.
Jean sur Richelieu, a small suburb outside of Montreal, Subb started in their teenage junior-high years. Starting in 1992, the group rehearsed and continually practiced while performing for friends and family. In 1995, the band recorded its first demos and began performing around the Montreal club scene. In 1997, Subb released its debut album on Underworld Records, Highstep to Hell. That same year the band toured throughout Quebec and also Ontario while releasing a split EP with Thirdfall entitled Two Ban'An a Split. Another EP was released in 1998, Like Kids in a Field. In March 2000, Subb released its second full-length album, Until the Party Ends, on STOMP Records. The band grew in popularity and stature, performing alongside Orgy, the Suicide Machines, and Crazy Tour while also touring throughout Europe. Subb also performed on the Vans Warped Tour. In 2002, the band left the studio with its third album, Daylight Saving. The group's manic stage energy and sound has been said to be a blending of NOFX and Sublime. ~ Jason MacNeil
