The alternative CCM group Everybodyduck was formed in 1992 on the campus of Southwestern Bible College in Phoenix, Arizona.
After graduation, two members of the band accepted full-time youth ministry work elsewhere; the remaining members, singer Darin McWatters and guitarist Tim Sovinec, soon recruited bassist Mark Stafford and drummer Tim Brinkman, and the new line-up began playing coffeehouses, churches and colleges throughout the southwest. In 1994 Everybodyduck self-released their debut cassette, Ducktape; it sold out in just seven months. Following the addition of vocalist Miranda Landers, the group released the CD What in mid-1995; the record brought them to the attention of the Rugged Records label, which in 1996 issued their self-titled third effort, scoring a hit with the single "Suzy's Diet." After the album's release, however, Stafford, Brinkman and Landers all exited Everybodyduck; upon adding vocalist Audrey Hundson, bassist Cory Knapp and drummer Michael Day, the group returned to the studio to record their next album, 1998's Still Know How to Groove. The worship album Seized by the Power of a Great Affection preceded the spring 2000 release of Eight Seconds on a Holy Cow. ~ Jason Ankeny
