Hello! We are Spooky Kool, Your Friend in the Spiritual Age, and we are a Globally recognizedPhoenix-Based band. We write, record,and perform original compositions along with a sample of updated Jazz Standards. We have released our first CD, "TheSpirit of Spooky Kool, Conversation with God" in March of 2014, and our first music video,Americans (http://youtu.be/WdW2QtALEls). We are in the process of recording our second collaborative effort. The CD will most likely reflect more of ourexperiences in music and life and project a release date before the fall of2015.

The band is lead by Writer, Composer, Producer, and Performer, Gabriel Bey who is commonly called Spooky Kool by band family, friends, fans, and followers. Phil Janzen is the band'sCo-leader and responsible for the group'srecording efforts, beating the drums, and keeping the band informed aboutlogistical and technical information. Sandra Bassett is our Vocalist, Pianist, and Musical Director. Her role is to keep us focused on building an award winning presentation and that we keep a professional and pleasing sound.

Pete Mello performs with exacting precision on guitar along with the dexterity and speed of soloist Jack Schaar on Alto Sax, and rounding off the band Ross Covington with his unique sound and form on electric bass. Born from a conversation in New Orleans the band manifested in the desert vortex of Arizona, like a Phoenix arising from the fire, we become, Spooky Kool, Your Friend in the Spiritual age.

While the band spends most of its time performing at festivals,we do perform for private functions and occasionally on the club scene at venues such as the Lost Leaf and the Crescent Ballroom.

We are so excited to offer so many of our musical Family,Friends, Fans, and Followers new music that is sure to raise them out of their seats and dancing in the aisles. Or if just sitting to ponder life's meaning, our musical compositions and conversations are designed to elevate the spirit and promote joy and happiness.
