Former Leominster MA resident, C. Wayne Beckner was part of the music scene of the mid 1960s to the mid 70s.
He was the founding member of a number of bands comprised of some of the best musicians from the area. In 1967 as lead vocalist and frontman for Michael & The Messengers, who were signed with USA Records of Chicago IL, had the hit Romeo & Juliet.

In 1976 Wayne gave up performing as a musician and left Massachusettes to serve as a street minister, traveling extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, and into the interior of Mexico. By the early 90s he settled in rural Wisconsin, living in a cabin he had purchased and working construction. In 2001 he moved to live and work in Madison WI. It was there that the name SPENT SPROCKET was born and he was asked to open for a few shows, one being "Blues For The Homeless" at Luther's Blues in September of 2002.

Returning to Massachuesttes in 2005, Wayne was able to get musicians and friends to join him in the recording of the SPENT SPROCKET - Change Me cd, a collection of songs written through the years.

Wayne presently performs solo as SPENT SPROCKET.
