While it’s a rare commodity for an artist to transcend genres with such uncanny ability as Sozay, his diligent commitment to quality provides some insight as to why he is able to do so with such ease.
The Playa del Rey, California native has released his latest studio effort, 'These Old Shoes', which was produced by Emmy Award winning producer Jim Perkins and also features artists such as Moi of Tomorrow's Bad Seeds and Scott Russo of Unwritten Law. Most impressive of all Sozay's features however, comes from the appearance of the legendary Duckie Simpson of the Grammy winning reggae group Black Uhuru. As heard throughout the disc, the creative transformation between albums has not affected the artist's commitment to creative integrity. In fact, his penchant for cooking up the tasty fusion of lyrical prowess, reggae grooves, rock riffs and hip-hop drum beats give Sozay a unique and distinct trademark sound.
