Aldo and Juninho, the duo known as Sonic Junior, met in Maceió (Alagoas) and followed parallel paths, while playing together: Juninho formed the hardcore band Living in the Shit, which lived about ten years, having performed at the Abril Pro Rock and Rec Beat festivals.
Aldo played in a multitude of bands and styles. When Juninho stumbled at a groovebox they discovered the potential of electronica in their sound. New influences were admitted (Medeski, Martin & Wood, Manu Chao, David Holmes, The Metters, Fugees, Fela Kuti), and the first CD followed, Sonic Junior (2000). Having performed in the Rec Beat and Abril Pro Rock festivals, the duo had its first international experience in Paris, France, in June 2001. ~ Alvaro Neder
