Also known as Sing Chew, Chew Sin Huey was born on June 23, 1981, and was a Malaysia-based pop vocalist.
Her first taste of fame came not in her home nation, but on the Singapore-based television reality talent show Project Superstar in 2005. Soon after her runner-up finish on the show, Sin Huey made her first appearance on a compilation album (in September of that year), after signing a deal with Play Music. From there, she continued to make successful appearances on television and on further compilation releases -- as well as making waves in Malaysia -- before releasing a debut of her own in 2006. Entitled From Taipei to Beijing, the album (released on Warner) was a hit and saw a handful of award nominations -- including Best Newcomer -- and in 2007 saw a re-release version hit stores. Her next moves included an appearance on a duets collection and a best-of compilation of her theme song work. ~ Chris True
