Silkat6 was assembled in 2007, when founding member Joe Palermo of The Keys, Rick Wakeman, several touring incarnations of Beatlemania and Ian McDonald fame, brought together some friends to create the most powerful concert rock band that has ever come out of Western New York.
Over the last few years SILKAT6 has undergone several member changes to what it is today. Every musician that has played in SILKAT6 has been of the highest caliber.With Palermo's 12 albums and countless singles, Silkat6 brings a fresh and energy filled performance to the stage. Joe Palermo is an award winning song writer and 10 time music award winner and nominee. 2009 brought the band to recognition when they were nominated for the BMA music awards for best new band of the year.

Palermo's SILKAT6 album titled "Dream Dancing" with title track being co-penned by Chris Squire, is scheduled for world wide release November 14, 2014.
2011 brought some new highlights and dramatic changes to SILKAT6, with new music, a new album, and a new line up of great musicians that will make SILKAT6 a treat by all measures.
Joining Palermo will be Herb Venticinque on Guitar& Vocals, Andres Orffeo on Bass and Vocals, Remo Packer on Drums and Joe "shoes"Gogan on guitar and vocals you'll want to Keep an eye on this line up.
