Originating from Alma, Westmoreland, the musical abilities of Selvin Stevens became apparent at an early age.
By the age of 12 as a seasoned performer of Westmoreland talent contests and showcases claimed the grand prize at the Red Label talent contests (Westmoreland). As a juvenile relocating to Kingston he faced the gruelling hardships of inner city life. Through sheer resourcefulness, vision and necessity established a fresh pineapple stall at Crossroads, Kingston.

Selvie Wonder the lyricist "extraordinaire" performing to the Crossroads patrons, serving sugar pine. The "Pine DJ" was born. Selvie's ability was closely monitored by Wayne Fire leading to the first of many performances on Caveman Sound System. With further guidance and mentoring, a recording career ensued, working with renowed artists and musicians like Supercat, Sly & Robbie, Third World, Luciano, Gregory Isaacs, Pinchers and labels such as Wild Apache, Penthouse, Too Tough, Capricorn & Xterminator.

and thus establishing a wide array of local and international hit records.

This paved the way to numerous appearanes and performances including Reggae Sunsplash, culminating with consecutive tours of Bermuda and USA. Seizing on these opportunities he was able to establish a base in the UK, leading to the release of the album "Long Road" on his Rasheart record label. Album promotion ensued with band tour dates in England, Scotland, Italy, Germany, Belgium at venues such as Stratford Rex, Forum, Clockwork, Cactus, Reggae Geel, London Peace Festival, La Palma, Pct Dommellholf and more
