Pop, soul, alternative rock, Portishead, and Morcheeba all influence the music of ScientificLifestyle, the Los Angeles trio featuring vocalist Nicole Porter plus musicians Zach Grace and Darius Holbert.
When A&R man and producer Grace met session musician and songwriter Holbert, the idea of forming a group was born. Porter was soon added, and within a year their debut album was ready. Modern Sounds for the New Era appeared in 2006 and won positive reviews for its solid grooves, lush atmosphere, and eclectic attitude. Two hired musicians replaced Grace, who prefers to remain in the studio, when touring to support the album began. In 2007 the band returned with an EP, The Arrow. ~ David Jeffries
