She first entered the public eye in 2003 when she was a top-three finalist on the reality TV show The Entertainer, hosted by Wayne Newton. She wasn't the winner, but having just moved to Nashville, she set her sights on a career in country music. She released her debut album, Every Monday Morning, in the spring of 2009, following it in 2011 with a second album, Angels & Devils, in which she wrote or co-wrote nine of the 11 songs.
