Sanova (Marcus Brock) is an American recording artist.
He was born in Belzoni, Mississippi. Later he moved to the Midwest where he was raised in Bellwood and Justice, Illinois.
Sanova was formed in 1996. While at the age of 14, his mother bought him the video game MTV music generator for the Playstation game system. Sanova was instantly hooked, creating countless instrumentals, writing songs and melodies. The music and "unique sound" caught the attention of a close friend whom had a recording studio in downtown Chicago (Chinatown).
In a secluded warehouse, on the 5th floor, at Room 517, Sanova began pumping out his early recordings. (Applebooty, Momentum) "The door read 517. That's where it all began for me", he recalls. (To this day, Sanova uses the numbers 5.17 as a homage to his humble beginnings. Most of his major projects are released on 05.17 or May 17th.)
Room 517 is were he recieved his musical start and experience. While also producing music for other labelmates on the small record label, Sanova started experimenting to find "his TRUE sound". At that time, influenced by Eminem's delivery and Tupac's passion, Sanova slowly began to come into his own.
Around that same time, a new 'little' website called Myspace.com had just launched.
He then created a myspage page. After adding a few unmastered songs, he quickly gained fans and followers (218,022+ views), birthing his "Online Fanbase".
Shortly after Sanova performed at the UNITED CENTER where the Chicago Bulls play, he moved to the nearby state of Indiana on a whim to do more shows and live performances.
While living in Indiana, he started performing throughtout Bloomington, Indiana.
He quickly rose to semi-fame due to his animated, creative freestyles at house parties and in the streets of Bloomington, as well as packing local clubs for shows.
As summer break approached and college kids returned back to their home states and countries, word quickly spread about 'Sanova'.
Soon he came across an opportunity to go and record his music in Dallas, Texas.
Sanova then traveled to TRADEMARC studios where he recorded "R U FAMOUS YET", along with "DID I STUTTER".
His new material was undeniably BETTER than before and original.
He had found his sound."R U FAMOUS YET" raw and uncut lyrics and melodic chorus, instantly grabbed listeners and new fans.
"R.U.F.Y." music video has gone on to win awards at the Seattle Film Festival and promoted on Comcast cable networks.
Sanova has coined the genre of 'Cinematic music'.
While having the core genre of Hiphop, Sanova narrates witty and amplified lyrics with melodic choruses. Add in a mixture of Pop and Rock elements, with a touch of a 'movie-like' feel and thats SANOVA.
"I feel that people in general have different moods throughout their day and music should reflect your current emotion(s). You should be able to put on any track of mine and it TAKES YOU THERE." - Sanova
