A multi-Juno Award nominee, Sandy Scofield is an equally multifaceted performer.
With experience in bands as stylistically varied as rockabilly, Cajun, jazz, vocal, and zydeco, Scofield (a Metis/Cree/Saulteaux Native North American) began her professional music career in 1986. Her skills and performances, both live and recorded, have won her awards (not just Juno nominations, but four Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards) and opportunities to perform at venues such as the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., and in places as varied as Australia, France, and Africa. Her debut album, Dirty River, was released in 1994, and was followed by Riel's Road in 2000 and Ketwam in 2002. Her 2007 release, Nikawiy Askiy, earned her yet another Juno Award nomination in 2008. ~ Chris True
