Samuel Rodriguez is a Brazilian singer and composer and arranger.
Samuel grew up learning to appreciate all the music styles. He began to sing by the age 7 stimulated by the Beatles cartoon, which came at that time in television. Later he began to sing in the "Bach Coral" of his town, where he studied music, regency and began to compose as well.
In 1983 he recorded his first solo disk by the label “ATLANTIC” (WEA), in 1986 he recorded the second one by “CONTINENTAL Records”,
Samuel participated as special guest of Jimmy Cliff, Gilberto Gil, Jards Macalé and Belchior shows.
In 1996, formed the group IRON HORSE, giving continuity to an old project: To adapt and approximate the rural music to the urban music, using elements and characteristics from the Folk, Rock, Pop, Country and Classic.
During seven years, he was the IRON HORSE band leader, performing in Rodeos and Agricultural Expos through Brazil and United States of America, making two tours in Massachusetts, New Jersey and Connecticut.
In 2001, Samuel recorded the CD: “Êta Mundo Véio!” by the label “OUVER” Entertainment.
3 years later Samuel went to Switzerland where he performed in Villeneuve, Lausanne, Cugy, Fribourg and Zürich.
Samuel Rodriguez was one of the attractions of the Montreux Jazz Festival 2004 in Switzerland on the stages of “Under The Sky”.
From these shows performed in July 10 and 11 came the fourth disc titled “Love Songs”
This CD was introduced in Europe, after a four-month show period in the “Casino Solverde” Espinho, Portugal.
In 2006 he returned to Switzerland. At this time, lived in Bern about 1 year and later came back to Montreux. From 2008 until 2011 Samuel lived in Valladolid (Spain).
Nowadays Samuel lives in São Lourenço (Brazil) his birth town, working with his own compositions. Giving emphasis to: "IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO CHANGE". a human calling up song.
In his show, Samuel Rodriguez plays acoustic guitar and sings with personal style some of the greatest hits from Beatles, U2, Kansas, The Police, Creedence, Paul Simon & Garfunkel, James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Shania Twain, Alison Krauss, Tracy Chappman, Willie Nelson, Nat King Cole, Vinicius de Moraes, Tom Jobim, Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Milton Nascimento and others, including his own compositions: Pássaro, Meu Anjo, Êta Mundo Véio!, Este Céu Que É Seu, Viagem, Minha Maria Fumaça , Eu Sou “Country” and Renascimento.
All the songs are arranged into the same context, with the spice of different ethnic percussion sounds, integrated into the “WORLD MUSIC” spirit, distinguished by the harmonious and timeless fusion between different musical styles.
