Based in the Netherlands, Salmon is a progressive rock band who bases their music heavily on classical styles.
They were formed in 1997. Their name represents the fact that they are going against the mainstream of the music, just as the salmon swims upstream to lay her eggs. The current lineup of the group is Jan Jaap Langereis (vocals, keys and recorders), Gerrit Hoogebeen (guitars), Sven de Haan (bass), and Robbert Schuster (drums). ~ Gary Hill
