Following the success of Alesha Dixon, lead vocalist Sabrina Washington was the second member of R&B girl band Mis-Teeq to launch a solo career.
Born in Harlesdon, London in 1978, she formed the group with Dixon at Dance Attic Studios in 1999, and after recruiting Zena McNally and Su-Elise Nash, they signed to Telstar Records a year later. After scoring two Top Ten albums, eight Top 20 singles, and a U.S. Billboard hit with "Scandalous," they split up in 2005. Disillusioned with the music industry, Washington spent three years away from the limelight before appearing on reality shows Celebrity Scissorhands in 2008 and I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here a year later. After working with producers Ali Tennant (Britney Spears, JLS) and Labrinth (Tinie Tempah), she released her debut single, "OMG," through her own label, sWash, in 2010. ~ Jon O'Brien
