My name is Roy Shiels, I'm an independent musician & songwriter from a small seaside town, on the east coast of Ireland, called Rush.
I'm a multi instrumentalist & a singer : playing guitar, bass guitar, drums & piano. I write, perform, produce & record in an alternative rock style. In 2009 I released my debut recording, a five song EP called The Teenage Storm & I will release my debut, full length, studio album "Big Kiss" on 15-JULY-2019.
My earliest music memory is listening to Buddy Holly's 'Everyday' on scratchy vinyl with my brother, Gavin on a stormy evening when I was about 7 years old - I still love that tune! Some of my favourite bands & artists include Smashing Pumpkins, Slint, Tom Petty, Soundgarden, Weezer, Hole, Tom Waits, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Beach Boys, My Bloody Valentine... and my all time favourite record (& pretty much the reason I am a musician today) is Smashing Pumpkins' Melon Collie And The Infinite Sadness - amazing!!
