Best known for representing Germany at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest, Lob was first noticed when he appeared as a contestant in the 2007 season of the casting show Deutschland Sucht den Superstar. However, he had to drop out of the show due to a vocal cord infection. In 2012, Lob won the casting show Unser Star für Baku with a performance of "Standing Still" (a song co-written by Jamie Cullum) and was therefore selected to appear at the Eurovision Song Contest, where he made eighth place. The song was released as a single, which reached number three on the German singles charts, followed by Lob's debut album, Changes, which entered the charts at number nine. ~ Christian Genzel
