It Started out in 1997 as a hip-hop dj grinding in the club circuit and recording mixtapes under the alias Walter Rocktight .
In 1998 Rocktight received honors through mixtape reviews from the now defunct Stress , as well as Urb magazines. Shortly after he decided to step it up a notch, and in 2003 began producing songs for local and nationally recognized groups such as Sa Smash, Copywrite, Jakki Da Motamouth ,Illogic, Vast Aire and more. This led to the creation of the Label Ear to the Grind Music in 2007. The first release on the new label ''School Of Rocktight was a compilation of artists from his hometown of Columbus,Ohio. The 2nd release, "Psycho Circus" was released in 2008 featuring the artist''Jakki da Motamouth''.
