Boston rockers RC Crimewave (short for Rock City Crimewave) describe their sound as "voodoo, volume, violence, and vodka combined in a primitive ritual to raise the devil up out of the swamp." The band began in 1998, shortly after singer/guitarist EEE Adams split from his former outfit, 8-Ball Shifter, enlisting second guitarist Kid Vengeance, bassist Poundy, and drummer Barry Smith to join up.
RC Crimewave's first release was the 2000 7" Halloween, which was followed up with a split CD/EP with a local Boston band, Lamont (their song "Bloodsucka" was also heard on ESPN's extreme sports show, Wrecked). July 2001 saw the release of the quartet's full-length debut album, Sounds from the Underworld, on Catapult Records. ~ Greg Prato
