In 2000, Illinois born Producer/Recording Artist ‘Rip’ created his Independent Record Label, RiP Records, while still in high school.
A decade later, in June 2010, he released his debut solo album “Fashionably Late”. The album carried the lead radio single “Watchin Me,” which garnered some radio airplay nationwide. Pete Jones of All Access Media Group, an industry radio trade site, said, “This is a catchy record. It sounds like Top-40 radio,” about the single. It was featured on the site as “Hot New Music” in both the Top-40 and Rhythmic platforms. Since the release of “Fashionably Late”, Rip has been releasing music videos and has been doing shows regionally to promote his album – most notably at his hometown radio station’s B96 Summerbash in Chicago two years in a row – to the Taste of Madison and World Famous Brat Fest in Madison, WI. The album is currently available through iTunes from Island Def Jam.Rip is currently back in the studio working on his sophomore effort, entitled “Sellout”, which he has already released two singles for: “Kissin In The Dark” and “Hate That I Love You”. The single “Kissin In The Dark” is a collaborative effort with singer Augie Zibbell of the acclaimed country band ‘Madison County,’ out of Madison, WI. “The album is a plethora of sounds. This album, ”Sellout”, is just influenced by good music, whether old or new, but more than anything…just Pop culture and music,” explains Rip, who is also a working DJ. The album features production from Rip himself and certified Gold producer DJ Pain 1. A lead radio single is still yet to follow.

Rip’s sophomore album, “Sellout”, is due out in the summer of 2012, with plans of releasing a full length feature film/documentary, “The Making of a Sellout”, along with it. It will document the artists’ last 12 years of making music.
