And just 'who' hasn't heard of 'RikFox', lol...
(aka Richard Suligowski, from Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY)... Former'Boy Wonder' (As coined by former SIN drummer and 'Tatulah-overseer', BasilBAZZ Stanley, aka Stan Bassell), and 1970's-80's 'rock star' as some of the nicer folks have referred to me (that is, not the competition of bitter, whining, crybaby (L.A.) musicians who felt threatened by whatever it was that I did that was good). Make no mistake, I ROCKED, but, it was the FANS who made us a success. We just delivered the goods. Met and been friends with so many in the business...At a L.A. NAMM show, once, while trying to help ANGEL's Barry Brandt get another drum endorsement, Eric Moore and Mark Chatfield of 'THE GODZ' once said: "Holy Shit! Rik Fox F*ckin' knows EVERYBODY!",LoL...charming story of when I met Uriah Heep's Ken Hensley at NAMM as well...it's true, I brushed with greatness from the 70's to today. Described as: "Real New Yorker...'Don't take no shit attitude', which sometimes causes issues with those Californians not familiar with this kind of 'no-nonsense-short-patience' mentality...Not quite 'Dee Snider', but much nicer. Outside he's all hardcore badass, deep inside, somewhere, is a hidden core of the nicest guy you could ever meet, just don't cross him, or you'll live to regret it...he never forgets it and rarely forgives it". These days: Looking into possibly releasing some DVD material of our old band stuff,SIN, THUNDERBALL, etc. but beware of pirated imitators, only the 'official' stuff will be coming from me. Negotiating a distribution deal with my friends at Full in Bloom Music (http://www.fullinbloommusic.com/rikfox.html),there, you'll see my HUGE three-part interview. God help me it's ALL TRUE!Lying is not very profitable. ALSO These days, sees me promoting the history and culture of my Polish noble ancestry (http://www.husaria.us) Was the first person in U.S. History to present this format to America, and taking heat for that too by some east coast imitators for some unknown reason. But, as my wife, Lady T says: "From Rock Star to Winged Hussar"...No matter WHAT he does,Rik's *Still* kicking ass and taking names...To all the fans, Thanks for hangin' in there and keeping it alive...To the old friends, Nice ta C-ya again!
Interests
General
OK! OK!After all this time..."THE OFFICIAL RIK FOX Face Book Page". I'm finally here, OK? Everybody's been after me to put something up here, so OK,here it is... I'm new here, and getting lost trying to navigate thru this mess...patience please...Formerly a 1980's 'rock star',(still am and always will be I guess-see "MY LIFE IN ROCK" photo album), and worked for a few years in film industry, spent 5 years in the Cal. State Military Reserve and then found 'Living History' at Renaissance Fairs, which (as in DUNE) sleeper-has-Awakened', and subsequently, my interest in my ancestry. Now,today, see the pic of me in the winged armor...doing so. I guess you might say that I traded in my 1980's metal for 1680's metal...Raising Polish Historic Awareness and Culture...Hasn't been easy folks... Speaking of culture: I Love decorating our home in Medieval/Moroccan & 17th century Polish styles, that's one of my 'creature comforts' weakness's. Arms, Armor, Eastern lanterns, brocades, wrought iron stuff, candle-stands, wall tapestries, etc. Like you would see in films like 'Kingdom of Heaven'. Lots of incense, too... I'm finally married, tied the knot on Oct. 1st, 2009 to my Love, Tarrah, we've been together since July/August of 2000, but known each other since 1983-4, wow! So let's clarify that. She's has rescued most of our current horses (8), and trains them. I *would* like, however, to see some old friends from the old mid-'70's 'Max's Kansas City/Great Gildersleeves days, some of the 1980'sHollywood days, and meet some of the fans of our bands back in the day. I'm not here to meet everyone in the whole world, so, please note, out of necessity, I have to be very selective about who I accept as 'friends', so don't take it personal. I'M NOT on here every day, too, so please be patient with my replies.THANKS! Although my first horse, 'Princess' a black thoroughbred passed away last year, I was 'introduced' to my current horse, whom I named... "Achilles",he's my dapple-grey thoroughbred at virtually 17 hands TALL! He's my 'warhorse' and a real sweetheart. Most of our horses are RESCUES, I might add.

Music
Film scores/Soundtracks, Classical, and of course, Rock. Mostly 1970's stuff, like my favorites, STEPPENWOLF!, URIAH HEEP!, ANGEL, Rainbow, The GODZ, Cactus, Spooky Tooth, Mott, King Crimson, Beatles, STARZ, TRIGGER, NEW ENGLAND, Leslie West-Mountain, Ronnie James-DIO. Modern stuff, like Blackmore's Night, and Renaissance/Baroque era period music. We're also good friends with Denise Ames who knows EVERYBODY in SHOWBIZ! I did a segment of her Cable TV show. Currently listening to my "Gladiator" soundtracks CD.Steppenwolf and STARZ are always in our CD player, even in the car or our trucks. The horses particularly like hearing STARZ when we ride. Actually, "Cool One" is a great song to ride horses to,perfect rhythm. Also we ride the horses to DIO material,it's great! I've got a great music collection, and the horses know it.,
Movies
Action-Adventure, Sci-Fi, and period war films. Lots of stuff you find at http://www.warshows.com Some documentary stuff, mostly dealing with history and warfare. That charge by the Rohirim cavalry to lift the siege in "Lord of the Rings-Return of the King' was the closest so far, we'll see of the parallel to the actual historical Relief of Vienna and the famous charge of the winged hussars. Peter Jackson was very clever in creating that aspect. O.K. I like classic comedies too, Jerry Lewis, Little Rascals. "Yum, Yum, Eat'em up!', Laurel & Hardy, Lots of the classic Hal Roach comedies. That's where I developed my 'timing' from. On the other side of the camera, Been if a few films too, -and- worked as a propmaster/weapons handler on the ill-fated Television series 'Air America' with Lorenzo Lamas, and the late Scott Plank. It gave me an opportunity to meet and work with a lot of cool stars, Capt. Dale Dye, John Beck (Rollerball), Juan Fernandez (Crocodile Dundee), Ben Murphy (westerns), Michael Gregory (Total Recall), and Appolonia (Purple Rain), and other work brought me to working with Chad McQueen (son of Steve), Melanie Shatner (daughter of Bill) and Michael Madsen all in 'Surface to Air'. Also worked with 'CT'/C.Thomas Howell, and 90210's Luke Perry, Ice-T, (The Crow's) Amy Locane, and (Married with Children's) David Faustino- (The Heist)-http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0211407/. (You'll see my name in the crew credits). I am a film NUT. I have an awesome film collection too. 'Movies is my life'.,
Television
Blah, blah, blah.....OK, the B.S. evening news, and world events. Oh, wait...Sci-Fi channel's 'Ghost Hunters', shows the TAPS guys, Jason & Greg, and their crew. Also the 'Paranormal Society' team on A& E. All that psychic paranormal stuff. We've experienced a Lot of paranormal stuff, so, we KNOW, 'SOMEthing's out there...We love classic old films. So busy, sometimes it takes us a WEEK to watch one film! Ever seen that cable series "DREAM ON" with Wendy Malik and Brian Benben? THAT,IS MY LIFE! to a 'T'.,
Books
Have a massive home research library, mostly on the history of the Polish winged-hussar cavalry and 16th-19th century Polish military and other European warfare material. Lots of Heraldry and Osprey military series books. Inherited my Father's Suligowski Heraldic Research Library, many out-of-print old books dealing with European Heraldry, many in foreign languages. Love reading good battle tactics and strategy books and articles. Maybe I was born again from the Renaissance times into the modern world? I certainly believe that I have lived in those times and others before...the DNA marker link is strong.
Heroes
My late Father, Chevalier Leonard J.Suligowski. For creating 'Rik Fox' and all things that he has been able to accomplish. He put me on the path to creating the first representation of the Polish winged hussars in American History. Does my wife, Lady T count as a hero? Well, she's taught me pretty much everything I know about all things equestrian, and has been my riding instructor/partner since 2000. Most of my 'Natural Horsemanship' I learned thru her, so, I guess that constitutes her as a 'hero' too. A former New Yorker, now a horse-ranch 'dude',lol..how about THAT?!? Ever mucked corrals in the rain? Bucked hay in 95% heat?Rescued wild horses and gentled them? Well, we have. I'm getting better at speaking their 'language' now. Other Heroes: Steppenwolf's John Kay, Uriah Heep's Ken Hensley,(I got to meet him too), Starz's Richie Ranno, Angel's Punky Meadows, Leslie West, Richie Blackmore, knights in armor, Tyrone Power, Errol Flynn, And those who try leave their mark on the world and to make the world abetter place for others... There are many lesser heroes, but that's the top of the list so far.
