THE FREEDOM is the brain child of singer/songwriter/arranger/producer Roberto Amaral.
This dynamic collection of songs is a one-of-a-kind blend of Pop and Flamenco, accented by Latin, Rock, Jazz and R&B.

Roberto, born of Mexican and Brazilian parents, grew up in the Latino barrio of East Los Angeles where he was exposed to many different types of soulful music. His early varied musical influences are clearly evident in his now trademark style of singing, writing and layered production. At the young age of seventeen, Roberto's professional career took off when he began to establish himself as a Flamenco dancer and choreographer who would quickly achieve international recognition and acclaim. His entry into the music world, as a featured vocalist/songwriter/arranger, followed only a few years later when he became one of the founding members of the legendary Flamenco Rock band CARMEN.

Having shared the stage with such luminaries as David Bowie, Jethro Tull and Electric Light Orchestra, CARMEN was the first ground-breaking band to combine Flamenco with Orchestral Rock, both musically and visually.

This new project reflects Roberto's use of his multi-faceted talents to create a sophisticated sound that incorporates intriguing musical styles. elements and textures from different countries and cultures. It is a concept of his which he refers to as "Exotic Contemporary". This vision that Roberto has had for many years, has been to have the world recognize a universal music genre that knows no boundaries and celebrates non-conformity. But most importantly, Roberto's passion is simply to continue making music such as this....an artistic expression of love, loss, joy, pain, empowerment and the ever present need to convey one's own personal sense of identity and freedom.
